Kudos from Our Fans!

"The Land of NOD is by far one of the coolest stages and the most eclectic collection of entertainers, musicians, etc.. that Voodoo Fest has to offer.  Dan is the MAN!" - Brad Simmons, Massachusetts

What the Media has to Say

"So it's finally time to get ourselves out onto the Voodoo grounds. .....That's our mission for today. We'll also plan to take the occasional stroll to the Noomoon Land of NOD Stage because the wild antics on display there are always well worth the visit." - GROOVESCAPES

This may look like some farm land in Jackson county, but for the next three days...

"This is the Land of Nod," Dan Sheridan, a producer of the festival, said. "Here at Dalton farms, it's a village we created out of a forest in a wild jungle."

Stated simpler, the Land of Nod is a music festival, created out of the voodoo experience in New Orleans.

Dan Sheridan and his friends have been trying to get this experiment off the ground in Michigan for three years. They already had the land.

"It's a perfect place for a festival," Sheridan said. "It's completely secluded, it's out in a wonderful area surrounded by oak trees."

But it took awhile to get the correct zoning, until now. Dubbed the most eclectic festival line-up, thousands are expected to invade the 100-acre lot off Dalton for a weekend of bands, camping, and food.

"It's something different, it's a different vibe," Don Corbitt, who drove up from New Orleans for the festival, said.

"There are fabulous artists out there that people aren't getting a chance to see, without a festival like this one," Preston Job said.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Department knows all about the event, and their deputies will be at the ready this weekend. The Leoni Township Public Safety Department took the lead. They will offer police and firefighters for each day of the event.

That's on top of the 24-7 private security the creators hired from the local community.

"Most of the contractors are from Michigan," Sheridan said. "We're trying to put the money back into Jackson."

Everything, it seems, is falling into place... except the weather.

"Don't be discouraged," Job said. "It's going to be a great time."

Sheridan said the show goes on rain or shine.

Leoni Township officers are most concerned with the possibility of severe weather this weekend. They will be watching closely -- and have an evacuation plan if it comes to that.
