Kudos from Our Fans!

"The Land of NOD is by far one of the coolest stages and the most eclectic collection of entertainers, musicians, etc.. that Voodoo Fest has to offer.  Dan is the MAN!" - Brad Simmons, Massachusetts

What the Media has to Say

"You would never know it at first glance but Sheridan leads one of the most eclectic gathering of tribes in America: the Land of Nod Experiment. ...In Hebrew the word Nod stands for wandering so Land of Nod really means “Land of Wandering.” The name seems apropos to describe an art/performance/music event which brings different New Orleans tribes together. For Sheridan’s part, he believes the Land of Nod Experiment is inspirational." - NewOrleans.com

Jackson is about to become part of an experiment — an entertainment experiment. On Saturday the Land of NOD Experiment will unfold on Dalton Road, northeast of Jackson.
The NOD Experiment is an art and music show. It is the brainchild of producers Dan Sheridan, and Jason Reed. They hope to create something more.

"Our full vision," Sheridan said, "is to host an annual gathering of creative minds with music and art lovers enjoying the surroundings for a positive experience for all involved."
What will a visitor to the event experience?

"One might expect to experience original live music acts performing along side artists creating live art while theatrical performances spring up around the corner," Sheridan said. "One can create a masterpiece to take home or sell in the gallery."

The NOD happening is meant to be a preview. Reed and Sheridan hope to turn the NOD Experiment into a major yearly event. Their ultimate target is for thousands of people to turn out in the future.

Sheridan lives in New Orleans and spends a few months a year in Michigan. Reed is from Detroit where he runs a printing business and owns Dark Course, a production company.

Daylong entertainment runs from noon to 8 p.m., featuring DJ's and musical acts performing on a small stage set up under a large tent. Trashion Show will present a fashion show featuring Noomoon clothing and other lines. Tents will be set up for a dining area and for the art gallery.

"We will be featuring dozens of artists and musicians from all over Michigan and beyond," Sheridan said.

If visitors need a break from the entertainment, the more than 100-acre property has numerous paths winding through fields and trees for people to explore.
